01. Office Name:-

Office of the Upazila Food Controller, Laksam, Comilla. 

02. Office Contact:-

 Each Upazila has an Upazila Food Controller office. The office is managed under the Directorate of Food under the Ministry of Food and controlled by the District Food Controller.

03. Manpower structure of the office:-

     Designation of Head of Office- Upazila Food Controller, to assist him there is Food Inspector 01 (one) person, Deputy Food Inspector 01 (one) person. Office Assistant 01 (one) person, 01 (one) sweeper and 01 (one) part time sweeper.

04. Offices under:-

 There are 04 (four) local food warehouses under the upazila food controller of (five hundred) May tons. 01 (one) food inspector and officer-in-charge are engaged in the warehouse. He is assisted by 01 (one) Deputy Food Inspector and 03 (three) Security Guards. 01 (One) Part Time Sweeper. Responsible for food safety and emergency stockpiling. 

05. Office Activities:-

 Under the Ministry of Food of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the Upazila Food Controller collected rice from the local rice mill owners and paddy from the farmers: provision of food security by storing food in warehouses. Moreover:-

 (a) Distribution of food grains for all developmental works. For example:-

  1. Food in exchange for work (Kabikha).

  2. Test Relief (TR)

  3. VGF

  4. VGD

  5. G. And

  6. Issuance of DO along with clearance in fire service etc.

     (b) Payment of ration at nominal price to Class 4 employees working in Government service.

     (c) O.M.S. management

     (d) Conducting foodgrain distribution programs at fair prices for the poor.

     (e) Submitting reports to higher authorities on daily market prices of various commodities. And

      (f) and enshrine government regulations by issuing foodgrain licenses to wholesale/retail foodgrain dealers and mill licenses to rice mill owners. Moreover, conducting various activities in coordination with upazila executive officers and other upazila officials and local            dignitaries including the chairman of the union parishad. Carrying out various electoral duties.
